One of the most difficult tasks is to reach out to people living in the remote areas of the Navajo and Hopi reservations.  Radio reaches those places where personal contact is impractical.  Western Indian Ministries has a strong radio ministry that blankets the reservations with the Gospel, broadcasting in the English, Navajo, and Hopi languages.  Many of your favorite Christian programs, and others specifically designed for Native Americans, are broadcast daily.

We have three radio stations in the Western Indian Ministries Network:  our flagship stations, KHAC (880 AM) broadcasts to a large portion of the Navajo reservation as well as surrounding border towns, KWIM (104.9 FM), is a light contemporary Christian music station; KTBA(1050 AM) in Tuba City, AZ  broadcasts to the western side of the Navajo reservation as well as the entire Hopi reservation.

We have the rare privilege of serving our God among one of the most unique cultures in the world today, that of the Navajo People.

The need to share Jesus Christ has never been greater on the reservation and we are seeking qualified, dedicated teachers and school personnel to further the gospel of Christ through child evangelism and Christian education.

Forty-nine percent of all Navajos are age 21 or under.  They're the leaders of tomorrow.  Nothing is more important than training young lives in the Lord.  Western Indian Ministries reaches Navajo youth primarily through Hilltop Christian School and Hilltop Christian Preschool.

From its humble beginning in 1964, Hilltop Christian School has grown and expanded to offer quality education to Navajo children in the area with a strong, Bible-based curriculum.  The school provides regular chapel services and outreach to parents through the Parent-Teacher Fellowship. 

The younger children are lovingly nurtured by Navajo Christians in Hilltop Christian Preschool.  Known for its advanced program for youngsters, our preschool is accredited by ACSI.

Over the years, Western Indian Ministries has planted a number of churches, most of which are now totally independent and native -run.  Today, there are many other small churches dotting the landscape, but most have weak leadership and little understanding of indigenous (native) church principles.

Western Indian Ministries desires to reach out to church leaders with Biblical training and caring support, to encourage a strong native church.

In addition, this department provides outreach ministries such as family and individual counseling, jail ministry, and police chaplaincy.  The goal is to model ministry to others and provide discipleship training so that there is a "multiplication process" for outreach among Navajos.

Each weekday morning the Mission Services staff meets to read Scripture and pray for all those serving the Lord under Western Indian Ministries.
